Background Story

Cress and Chester, two young men living in the small village of Toltus, have been friends since childhood. One day they set out from their village to do some hunting in the forest to the south. However, when they returned from a day of successful hunting, they found their village in ruins and all of the villagers slaughtered en masse. Cress and Chester, their families now murdered, swore to get revenge on whoever had perpetrated this horrendous massacre. The ones who destroyed Toltus were trying to find Cress's pendant, the key to a seal preventing an evil force from reviving the ancient sorcerer, Dhaos.

Not wishing for any harm to come to his friend Chester, Cress sets out on his own, but he is soon captured, and his pendant is stolen. Cress is locked up in an underground prison, but a mysterious force sets him free. He then meets Mint, who is also imprisoned there. Cress hears that a ceremony to revive Dhaos is to be performed in an underground mausoleum, and heads there. But he is too late to stop Dhaos's revival. The seal now broken, Dhaos attempts to kill Cress and his friends, but at the very last second, Cress and Mint's lives are saved as they are transported through a time warp back into the past.

Cress and Mint set out on a journey to defeat Dhaos. Along the way, they meet Claus, Arche, and many other interesting characters, and together they engage in an adventure that transcends time. But what is Dhaos’s true purpose...?

Cress Albane

Since he was a small child, Cress has been learning the art of the sword from his father Miguel, a swordsmanship teacher. He is an apprentice swordsman, but as he increases in skill, he eventually gains the ability to use deadly artes as well as arcane artes, which are combinations of deadly artes. He is kind and considerate of others, but he also has a gentle and naïve side.

Mint Adenade
Age: 18 Gender: Female Height: 162cm (5'4") Weight: That's private!

A cleric who can cast healing spells and direct assist spells. Her mother was also a cleric. She is quiet and reserved, but is strong and brave when it comes to battle, and faces the enemy head-on and without hesitation. Her measurements are not public knowledge, but according to Arche, Mint is surprisingly well-endowed.

Arche Klien
Age: 17 Gender: Female Height: 157cm (5'2") Weight: 39kg (86lbs), or so she says.

A half-elf girl, capable of using direct attack spells and magic, a skill only possessed by those in the bloodline of the elves. She has a very friendly and outgoing personality, and it seems like she has no fear of strangers whatsoever. Occasionally, she says or does things that show a lack of tact, embarrassing others around her, but she never feels guilty afterwards. She should live for a long time.

Claus F. Lester
Age: 29 Gender: Male Height: 176cm (5'9") Weight: 62kg (137lbs)

A researcher in the science of summoning. As he is a human and unable to use magic, he is instead researching and trying to master the art of summoning, which is said to be capable of matching magic in terms of offensive power. He hardly ever shows his emotions to others, and he has a defiant attitude towards elves, perhaps because of feelings of inferiority for not being able to use magic. He is the only party member who can be considered a full adult; everyone else is in their teens.

Chester Burklight
Age: 17 Gender: Male Height: 175cm (5'9") Weight: 62kg (137lbs)

Cress’s childhood friend. In contrast to Cress’s sword techniques (direct attacks), Chester is an excellent marksman with the bow (indirect attacks). He lost his parents at an early age, and grew up looking after his younger sister Amy. He may look like a cool, impressive fighter, but deep down he is completely opposed to any dishonesty or wrongdoing. He has a passionate sense of loyalty to his friends and family.
